Despite the pandemic, the Smart Infrastructure Conference was held successfully at HKUST via dual-mode on the 13th and 14th of May 2021, boasting over 700+ participants joining face-to-face and online. As the second in the Smart City Conference series co-organized by The HKUST Civil and Environment Engineering Department, The HKUST Civil and Environmental Engineering Alumni Association, HKUST GREAT Smart Cities Institute, Smart City Consortium, and the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, the Smart Infrastructure Conference aims to facilitate intellectual exchange on how densely populated metropolitan areas like Hong Kong can utilize smarter infrastructure solutions to address challenges while maintaining sustainability and fostering an innovative spirit.

The conference had the honor of hosting a plethora of different prominent industry-leading keynote speakers from diverse backgrounds to lead stimulating discussions and share ideas about advanced practices on topics such as digital twins, big data analytics, IoT, and automation applications in the Greater Bay Area.
